The UKCKS Qualification is designed for those wishing to teach sessions as a full or part time self employed role. It does not matter your experience level because everything you need will be included in the training course. You are advised to take a separate “Anatomy”, First Aid and a teaching certificate, such as “Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) (6302)” which you can find at local colleges and online.
The types of classes currently being taught include open public, private charitable groups, mental health hospitals, social support groups, daycare centres, local sport group funded classes, sports centres, disability groups, etc. Specialised classes such as COPD (NHS rehabilitation) and physiotherapy departments are also areas currently using our instructors.
The growing interest in offering effective health exercise classes to groups of people not able to access other forms of mainstream programme due to inappropriateness can benefit from this form of exercise because it is adaptable to the individual’s needs.
